On Tuesday the Greater Giyani Municipality, (GGM) continued with its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Budget Public Participation process for 2017/18 for cluster- all township wards.

Ward 7 committee members reacted swiftly on Facebook post posted by ward 7 Councilor, Fumani Mkoveni who urged his ward committee members from Bode and Siyadhani to bring forth their grievances ahead of IDP public participation which was held at Golf club on Tuesday.

Amongst the challenges raised by committee members were youth programmes, and sport facilities that will keep the youth out of substance and alcohol abuse.

Clean water, and proper road infrastructure we also mentioned in Fuyatha, Famanda and Risenga in Siyadhani village outside Giyani.

Greater Giyani Municipality spokesperson, Steven Mavunda said “role players expected to partake in the process are Ward Committees, School Governing Bodies, Sector Departments, Civic Structures, None Governmental Organisations, Community Based Organisations, Faith Based Organisations and the general members of the community”.

Greater Giyani Municipality Council has commenced with its 2017/18 IDP/Budget Public Participation programme on the 2nd of May at Giyani Community Hall, and it’s expected to be concluded on the 18th.
