Community Safety Forum was re-launched in Phalaborwa

In a bid to boost the town’s effort at crime prevention, Ba-Phalaborwa municipality in collaboration with the Department of Security and Liaison re-launched the Ba-Phalaborwa Community Safety Forum (CSF) on Friday at Impala Sports Hall.
The re -launched was attended by Ronald Stander Chief Director for Crime Prevention and Community Police relations from the Department of Transport, Safety, Security and Liaison, Counsellors, Harold Zungu Municipal Director of Community Services, Machavi Calvin Principal Provincial Inspector in Ba-Phalaborwa and Russell Shayi Ba-Phalaborwa Traffic Superitended among others.
Roland Stander said “CSF will be responsible for ensuring Ba-Phalaborwa safety in various key areas such as health, tourism, social crime and roads”.
“The safety forum will be responsible for identifying safety problems and developing an approach to resolve these to the best of its capacity and educating and informing community about safety”. Stander said
Some of the 10 newly elected members who were elected includes, Abraham Mohlala as Chairperson, Boiketlo Monyela as Secretary of Community forum, Benz Masiya Social Crime Prevention, Conny Mkhari dealing with Road Safety.
Ba-phalaborwa Municipality spokesperson, Jones Mahesu said “the forum will run for five years”.
Harold Zungu , director of community services urged the public not to indulge in activities that undermine the morality of the community.
