Malamulele- MD Shirinda’s children took to Facebook to share their heart felt messages

South Africa sudden by the death of Xitsonga music pioneer General MD Shirinda, he passed away at the age of 79 at the Tshilindzini Hospital on Sunday morning, near Thohoyandou.

Family spokesperson General’s younger brother Prophet Shirinda confirmed that the legendary musician was ill for sometimes.

MD Shirinda survived by five wives and 44 children, at Makhasa village, outside Malamulele, he was also a well known traditional healer.

The President of the SADC Traditional healers Association Dr Slyvester Hlati said that Shirinda will be solely missed. Dr Hlathi described the death of the General MD Shirinda as the great-worse to the community of Makhasa Village and countrywide.

On father’s Day last week, he received messages from his children via social network Facebook “ shout out to this hero here, the only father alive who knows how to share his love equally among his 44 children.

Who knows how to provide for them all in one big happy family and same yard. My dad is all in one, he’s our teacher, our psychologist, doctor,father, friend and many other good ones.

We are who we are because of his good parenting skills, he’s the best dad I could ever ask for, every timei think of him his words comes to my mind ‘ vananga miti hlayisa mi tlhela mi hlayisana’ what a best dad in the whole world. I love you daddy Happy papa’s day ” one of his children Hlambani Shirinda wrote on her Facebook page.

On the day of MD Shirinda’s death,Hlambani and her brothers took to facebook to share their heart felt messages with his fans, family and friends.

“my hero, my pillar, my mentor and my everything, rest in peace daddy, the world will always remember you himi ntirho ya nwina papa General MD shirinda”. Ndongwe Jameson Shirinda wrote

“ Daddy I will always love you, my hero, my soldier ni khoma hi tingana ku vula kuni xisiwana. May your soul rest in perfect peace”. Hlambani wrote

General MD Shirinda is one of the musician who started his music career in 1960 when it was not fashionable to get a recording deal when you were Xitsonga speaking person. He has recorded about 764 songs in his career.
