Tzaneen- Cash in transit heist failed after the vehicle pulled-off the road

On Monday a cash in-transit vehicle was attacked and attempted to be robbed.

It’s alleged that the vehicle was traveling along R528 Georges valley road between Haenertzburg and Tzaneen road when three cars tried to block and pulled it off the road and immediately they started shooting it with rifles several times until they fled the scene without any cash.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said “during the incident there was a cross fire between the security officers and the suspects where some of these suspects were shot and injured, however their accomplices took the injured suspects away”.

The suspects were alleged to be using two Mercedes-Benz sedans, one was black and the other one was White, the third car was a Quantum and all of the vehicles had the GP registration numbers. Ngoepe said

“Therefore the provincial tracking team have launched a massive manhunt, However police are asking all members of the communities who may happen to see or come across a person with a gun shot wounds coming for consultation at any medical facilities contact Captain Boshomane on 079 894 5501 or contact the nearest police station on 086001011. No arrest has been made so far”. Ngoepe added
