Musina- Forty Six (46) year old, Calvin Nephawe was granted R500 bail on Thursday after appearing at Musina Magistrate court on charges of setting up an illegal initiation school.
The illegal initiation school which was set up between Harper and Campbell farm bushes outside Musina was closed this week and the owner was arrested.
According to the statement released by Limpopo Provincial Police, Nephawe was arrested after the police received the information.
Provincial Police spokesperson Lt Col Maontshe Ngoepe said about 34 initiates were taken to a local Hospital for Medical treatment.
“A total number of 34 initiates were rescued and conveyed to the local Hospital for Medical treatment”. Ngoepe said.
Nephawe’s case has been postponed to the 18th of July pending further investigations.
Meanwhile, Kgoshi Malesela Dikgale of Limpopo house of traditional leaders, has welcomed the closing of the initiation. “I’m happy the school is closed, that’s all I can say”. He said
“It’s the first and the only one so far but we will make sure that all illegal initiation schools are closed”. Dikgale added
