Namakgale- Phalaborwa FM obituary presenter has died

Phalaborwa FM (PFM) station manager, Sello Lepedi last Friday confirmed the passing of Busi Portia Mgiba who was known to her fans as “N’wa- Mgiba”.

She passed away at Maphuta Malatjie Hospital last Friday At the age of 42.

N’wa- Mgiba was ill for sometime, that led to her being off air between 2013 and 2014. She returned to work very strong and healthy early 2015. Said her former colleague at  PFM

“In 2015, I had an opportunity to meet sesi Portia and it was something that I was hoping for after I joined the station at the time she was ill”, Said Former PFM presenter, Blessing Mabunda aka Da- Bless piano Da- kiss.

“She was famous in an extent that people were asking us about her whereabouts, and to me it was a dream come true in 2015 when I was offered an opportunity to share a radio slot with her”.

She was a good person and a sister to me. Da- Bles said

Lepedi said, “It’s with deep sorrow and pain the untimely passing away of Mgiba. We not only grieve the passing of a tremendous individual but also for the loss her family suffers at this time”.

“We have lost a dear friend, a valued colleague and pioneer of community radio to our community who contributed enormously to the success of Phalaborwa Community Radio.

We will always remember her with her energetic, witty character and commitment to PFM. Let us continue to pray for her and her family during this difficult time”, Lepedi added.
She will be buried at Acornhoek on Saturday, tomorrow.
