Malamulele- Another ritual murdered victim laid to rest

MALAMULELE- Limpopo ritual murdered victim, Rhandzu Manganyi (16) from Gumbani village West of Malamulele was laid to rest over the weekend in her home village.

Manganyi who was a primary pupil was found murdered along the Shingwedzi river with her vital organs removed.

During the preparatory week, the President of the SADC Traditional healers Association Dr Sylvester Hlati visited the victim’s home and promised to build the family of more than 20 people a proper house.

The deceased was staying with all the family members in a one room house and they are originally from Mozambique.

“With assistance from several organizations we can build a proper shelter for this less fortunate family but I promise to contribute in abundance in building this house” Dr Hlathi’s words of pledge

The Vhembe region is facing a string of femicide cases and ritual related murder targeting woman. Several cases remain unresolved. Cabinet Minister Faith Muthambi has described the ongoing incidents of ritual murder cases in Vhembe as cannibalism and barbaric.

Muthambi was speaking during the funeral. According to the police no arrests have been made inconnection with the murders. Several murder cases reported in Vhembe remain unresolved.

“We are busy with deep investigations following the ongoing incidents of ritual related murders in the Vhembe area”, Limpopo police Spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said.
