Today, the community of Bungeni village outside Elim gathered
at a local stadium as they celebrate Mandela month with the little ones while MEC of sport, Arts and culture Monica Moloi graced them with her presence.

Executive mayor Moses Maluleke of Vhembe district municipality, mayor of Lim345 Joyce Bila and chief Bungeni also attended the event.

MEC came with t-shirts, games, cake and many more gifts to hand them out to the little ones.

The aim of the event (Junior Depapadi) is to create diverse community and a social cohesion between people of vhembe district and other districts around.

The indigenous games were played together with traditional dances where MEC also participated and their local rhythms were there to entertain the little ones.

“I am here to celebrate the democracy of our father tata Madiba Mandela and support sports, arts and culture by hosting Junior dipapadi event,” said MEC Moloi

“Teachers please I urge you to teach these kids the importance of sports, arts and culture “, Moloi added

“We need to stop abusing children, we must also teach them what is abuse so they can know”, she said

“We need to go back to Ubuntu let’s restore the moral fibre of our society let us know that my neighbor’s child is also my child”, said MEC.
