MALAMULELE – Limpopo department of health celebrated world Hepatitis day in Matiyani village, outside Malamulele on Friday the 4th of August 2017.
Limpopo health MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba gave a keynote address where she outlined the causes and prevention methods of Hepatitis.
This initiative occurs same time with the World Breastfeeding Week and also Woman’s Month celebration.
During the lecture, Dr Ramathuba indicated that Hepatitis is a disease that attacks the liver and it is dangerous.
“We need to observe our food intake to avoid liver disorders which may result in Hepatitis.” said Dr Ramathuba
Hosi Shilumani Mhinga the 2nd, asked the MEC to bring health centre at Mhinga area.
“Most of our citizens lack such information because there is no health facility around.” Hosi Mhinga emphasised
This week the provincial government in the health sector is engaged in the world Hepatitis awareness campaign programme.
Upon the MEC’s, she encouraged all mothers to prioritize breastfeeding.
