GIYANI- LIVESTOCK THEFT CONTINUES TO BE PROBLEMATIC

GIYANI – Police in Giyani have launched a manhunt for suspect (s ) linked to the stocktheft case that has been reported in Mnghonghoma Village outside Giyani over the Weekend.

A resident, Joseph Mahasha said, after discovering that 13 of his cattle are nowhere to be found, they went all out to look for them in the nearby bushes.

He went on to say, he was shocked to see 9 of his cows being killed and removed some parts.

“Out of the 13 cows that went missing, 9 were found dead while 2 are still nowhere to be found and 1 was found with wounds that prevents it from walking”, Said Mahasha

Upon his conclusion, he outlined that they have formed a task team that will be investigating the foresaid encident and that the team will work within Mnghonghoma village and its surroundings.

Giyani police spokesperson, Captain Magezi Khosa approved that 2 cases were opened in their station and investigations are running.

“We are calling on everyone with information that will help in this matter to come forward.” Said Captain Khosa

“At this moment and time, we haven’t yet made any arrest but we are working tirelesly to get to the bottom of this case.” Concluded Captain Khosa.

The incident related to livestock theft is not new in this area, as a similar case was reported late last year.
