GIYANI – Xivulani Dangerous Tigers emerged victorious during the Giyani Local Football Association (GLFA) playoffs held in Giyani stadium over the weekend (26 & 27 August 2017)

The GLFA 2016/17 promotional playoffs consisted of 6 teams from all streams namely Xivulani Dangerous Tigers, Hatshama bucs XI, Giyani Happy Boys, Thomo Dynaros, Mahlathi Phunya and Noblehoek all stars.

On Saturday 26th of August,the above mentioned clubs eliminated each other from the group format A&B where the overall winners from the 2 groups advanced to final stage which was conducted on Sunday the 27th August 2017 at 12:00.

The final battle was between two giants Xivulani Dangerous Tigers and Noblehoek all stars, where Tigers grilled All stars by 3 goals to 0 during the last 20 minutes of the second half.

The competition Chairperson of GLFA, Lyborn Baloyi congratulated Tigers for the hard work displayed on the day and for them to have automatically gained promotion to SAB Regional League for the season 2017/18.

“It’s only fair for us to congratulate even the runner up for their work rate and total discipline they displayed during the finals. Said Baloyi

GLFA Chairperson Eric Sithole emphasised the issues of total football displayed over the play offs and sent his Congratulatory message to all the teams and supporters for making the event reach its own successes.

“We would like to thank the greater giyani municipality for allowing us to use the facility during these encounters. Said Sithole.

He concluded by motivating them to continue with their good football then rendered the trophy handover to the promoted team.

Tigers coach, Muki Novela showed impression over the outstanding performance by his players and promised to keep up the good work from the team.

“Today’s performance was up to standard and i’m proud of the team’s effort.” Said Novela
