“However, we are pleased that the arrest was made by Interpol SA in conjunction with Brazilian police”, he said.

International relations spokesperson, Nelson Kgwete said it was unclear when Maluleke would make a court appearance.

Sowetan live, reported that a source close to the department said that authorities were puzzled as to what Maluleke was doing in Brazil.

According to Sowetan live, Maluleke who was staying in a backyard cottage which she was renting with her kids in Kensington, Gauteng, was described by her landlord George  João as a very friendly person.

“She moved in to the backyard in March 2017. I was so happy when she moved in that finally I would be having an officer in the yard”, João said, quoted by Sowetan.

“Nothing looked dodgy about her. The only people who used to come was her mother, sister and the boyfriend. The boyfriend would come once after a while “, João said.
