Constable Angela Maluleke, who hails from Homu 14B, outside the town of Giyani, has been arrested at the São Paulo international airport in Brazil.
It’s alleged that six bricks of cocaine were found in constable Maluleke’s personal luggage.
Maluleke has been described as a kind and loving person. Her arrest has come as a shock to her colleagues and the Homu 14B community at large.
One of the community members of Homu 14B, who wished to remain anonymous said it’s still a shock that a humble soul like Maluleke could be a drug mule.
“Since we heard of her arrest, we as the community of Homu 14B, have asked ourselves many questions. What business was Maluleke doing in Brazil?”, he asked.
Maluleke is the mother of two children. Police spokesperson at the Cleveland police station where Maluleke was based, Captain Johan Jordaan, said Maluleke was on leave.
Giyani View’s efforts to get comment from Maluleke’s family have been fruitless.
