LIMPOPO – Residents of Vuwani outside Thohoyandou  have on Thursday 14 September 2017 vowed to continue their protest.

They want government offices to start operating but without the involvement of the newly formed LIM 345 municipality. This was a resolution taken immediately during their latest meeting.

Meanwhile the Malamulele Task Team is expected to meet with the ANC PEC soon. Some Malamulele residents are concerned about what they call the soft treatment being given to the people of the Vuwani area who are against incorporation into the new Lim 345 municipality.

On Sunday 10 September Malamulele residents called off a planned shutdown protest.

The Malamulele Task Team says it’s only some residents of 5 wards which are predominantly Venda speaking out of 36, which do not want to be part of the LIM 345.

The tension over the dermacation issue has since divided communities along ethnic lines.

The meeting between the ANC’s Provincial Executive Committee and the Malamulele Task Team was scheduled to be held on Friday 15th September.
