The police in Makuya outside Thohoyandou have arrested a 38- year old-man at Hamakuya Mutshilini village for murder. It is alleged that
in the early hours of Thursday, the suspect stabbed to death his ex-wife Tondani Munyai aged 34, several times all over her body with a sharp instrument after a long argument.

The provincial police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe said the cause of the argument was not clear but the Police investigations would
tell as they were still unfolding. “The suspect will appear before the Makuya Periodical Court on friday,6 October ,” he added.

Meanwhile in Giyani, the Police had arrested a 29- year-old man for raping a 26 -year- old mentally ill woman at Nsavulani village outside
Giyani. It is alleged that the suspect entered the victim’s home after seeing her sitting alone on the veranda, started talking to her and proceeded
to rape her on the spot.

“The victim’s mother arrived and upon observing this she immediately summoned the Police who reacted swiftly and arrested him on the act,” said Ngoepe.

He added that the suspect would appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court soon for rape. Police investigations were still continuing.
