TZANEEN- TZANEEN TOURISM INFORMATION CENTER GUTTED IN FIRE

Police in Tzaneen are investigating the burning of the local Tourist Information Centre along the R71 road which occurred on Monday night.

It is alleged that the security officer who was on duty on Monday night have noticed a flame of fire coming from the front elevation of the building.

Limpopo provincial police spokesperson LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the security guard immediately activated the fire Brigade and the Police who reacted swiftly but on arrival, it was found that the whole building was covered with fire, they tried to extinguish it with no success.

“During this incident, there was no injuries or fatalities and this building was totally gutted down with everything inside including furniture and electrical appliances with the estimated damage caused of more than R500 000.00

The cause of this fire is still unknown but the Police investigations will tell,” Ngoepe said
