PHALABORWA- SASCO Mopani Region has on Wednesday released the statement in support of Mopani South East TVET College SRC.

This has emerged after students yesterday (Wednesday) at Mopani South East TVET College (Namakgale and Phalaborwa Campuses) have embarked on a strike, demanding a fair “processes of registrations “and other critical issues pertaining NSFAS.

SASCO in the statement said they decided to shut down all the registration process due to the students concerns which include decrease of students’ enrolment for report 191 (Nated), denial of enrolment for students who are owing the college, enrolment criteria report 191 (Nated) which is not part of the admission policies of the college and lack of lecturers within the campus.

SASCO further pleaded with the community of Ba- Phalaborwa to support them in their struggle untill their demands are met.

Public Relations Officer of Mopani South East TVET College, Tiyani Mboweni said the management had a meeting on Wednesday afternoon to discuss a way forward and insuring that the situation is calm in the campuses.

“At this moment and time, I don’t have full details about the meeting outcome, but definitely I will get the ins and outs from that meeting and I will revert back to you.” Said Mboweni.
