TWO MINI BUS DRIVERS BURNT BEYOND RECOGNITION IN HEAD ON COLLISION

LEPHALALE – Police in Lephalale are investigating a case of culpable homicide that occurred this morning.

The two vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction along the R518 (Markenon road) about 9km outside Lephalale.

According to Police investigations, a Vw Grafter which was travelling from Polokwane to Lephalale town, carrying one passenger collided head on with a white Toyota Quantum from the opposite direction with the driver alone inside.

Limpopo Police said both vehicles caught fire on impact and the two drivers were burned beyond recognition. The 29-year-old female passenger was transported to hospital with severe burn wounds.

“The deceased’s names will be released as soon as their positive identification has been made and their next of kin notified. The cause of the accident is not known at this stage, but police investigations are underway.” Said Constable Mother Manamela.
