Giyani whistle blower, Thembani Chabani has on Facebook claimed to have prepared a lawsuit against Giyani Community Radio Station (GCR) alleging that the station has damaged his name on air last year October.
“GCR FM will be sued R2,8 Million in damages by myself for damaging my name on air by wrongly accusing me, falsely misleading the listeners and inciting hatred against myself since 09 October 2018 – 05 Feb 2018.” The letter stated.
According to the letter sent to Giyani View the letter of demand dated 05 February 2017 drafted for submission via sheriff of Giyani

3rd Respondent: Independant Communications Authority(ICASA)

7th Respondent: All Radio station officials (Management)
“RE: WE ARE REPRESENTING OUR CLIENT
(A) We demand that you apologise unreservedly to our client Thembani De Rebel Chabani
(B) That you provide us podcasts for all your broadcast from 09/10/2017 to 05/02/2018 via ICASA LIBRARY
(C) You must desist and refrain from accusing our client with unverified information
“FAILURE TO COMPLY SHALL RESULT IN OUR CLIENT APPROACHING THE SUPREME COURT ON URGENT BASIS TO APPLY A COURT ORDER TO HAVE YOUR LICENSE REVOKED AND YOUR STATION PAYING COSTS FOR THE APPLICATION.
HIGH COURT OF RSA LIMPOPO DIVISION.” The letter reads.
GCR station manager, Gezani Chauke wasn’t reached for a comment immediately.
