3 521 unemployed youths in Giyani show interest in military based skills

GIYANI- At least thousands of youth job seekers in the greater Giyani Municipality showed interest in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) skills recruitment, Army, Air force, Military Intelligence and Navy, which was held at the Giyani community hall last Friday.

Founders of Rough Diamond Youth initiative (RDYI), former GCR FM DJ, Nkhesani (Ndlovukazi Yaka) Chavalala, Otto Ngoveni and Gift Thembani Maswanganyi are the founders and active directors of the organization.

Maswanganyi told Giyani View that 3 521 unemployed youth between the age of 18-26 in the Greater Giyani Municipality applied for military based skills. He further explained that the application forms are now being submitted to SANDF.

“We wish to thank the Office of Municipal Manager, Communication, Youth Desk, Office of the Mayor of Greater Giyani Municipality for enabling a conducive environment for us to touch the lives of our youths who are helpless for their job seeking prospects.”

“As RDYI we are committed to fighting unemployment, sharing information and assisting our beloved excellent youths to access Work, Internship and Skills Acquisition opportunities. This is the beginning of greatness that are about to manifest.

“However, lack of funding, office space and other working resources restrict us from doing the more beneficial activities. We are hoping that the leadership of government and the corporate world are observing our works and we are looking forward to partnering them in the future,” said Maswanganyi.
