GIYANI- At least more than hundreds of Mahlathi residents witnessed 180 pupils of Giva-Mahlathi high school receiving sanitary pads from the Good Enough Foundation (GEF).
The Director of the foundation, Khetani Mashele says the sanitary pads were donated to all female pupils at Giva-Mahlathi high school. The event was held last Friday.
“We further launched the new award by the name of Khetani Ephraim Mashele Top Achiever Award worth of R5000 and two-night trip to Kruger National Park with family for the best pupils who will win the award at the end of the year,” concluded Mashele.
One of the beneficiaries, Sharon Makaringe told Giyani View that the sanitary pads donated to them are the most important source in the lives of all girls.
“To me, it means taking a girl child to school, which is a very important thing to do. We want to see this kind of work going forward, helping a girl child all the times.”
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality Pule Shayi has donated sanitary pads to over 600 learners from all the schools in Ba-Phalaborwa last week. The event was held at Impala Sports.
