LIMPOPO- Walter Maringa (33) is on the run after he skipped court appearance on the 27th of December 2017. It is suspected that the suspect is hiding in Zimbabwe.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the provincial Detectives have launched a manhunt in relation to the charges against the suspect who has turned himself into a fugitive.

“Maringa is wanted for a Farm related murder that took place at Lebuvu Farm F10 on 18 October 2016,” said Ngoepe.

The alleged suspect attacked Bonnema Hendrik Peiter with a sharp object while Peiter was entering his homestead and left him to die. Police investigations discovered that the motive of this crime is believed to be to rob the victim of his hard-earned money, However the mission was not accomplished.

“The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s cellphone which was later recovered by the police during the suspect’s arrest,” added Ngoepe.

It is alleged that the victim who lived alone at the above-mentioned farm was later found dead inside his home. Maringa was then arrested and appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate Court and was grated R5000 bail in 2016.

“The suspect might also be linked to several farm murders in and around Levubu area,” Ngoepe concluded.

The police urge anyone with information which can lead to the re-arrest of this suspect to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501 or the nearest Police Station.
