GIYANI- A dozens of patients at Dzumeri health centre in Giyani are being advised to go buy their own medication.
Giyani View understands that the challenge faced by the health centre has been recurring since there’s no vehicle stationed in the Dzumeri health centre.
According to our source who works at the centre who wish to remain anonymous says they used to have a vehicle at Dzumeri health centre which has now been sold without a need to sell the car.
“Some of the medications are still available at Nkhensani hospital, but since we don’t have a car in the centre, it’s difficult for us to offer a service to the patients,” alleged our source.
The Dzumeri Health Centre offers at least 15 essential services which range from emergency. Giyani View understands that another challenge facing the centre is failure to categorise patients and without agency by staff nurses who are closing consultation rooms and chat on WhatsApp.
All the patients, in all 15 services offered by the centre have one help desk to register their names, collect their medical record files which delays the services offered by the centre.
Limpopo Department of health spokesperson, Derick Kganyago wasn’t reached for a comment at the time going to press.
