GIYANI- In 2017 Limpopo Nursing College students in Giyani Campus called-off the protest after an agreement between Student Representative Council (SRC) and College management was reached.

On Tuesday morning students blocked the campus main gate entrance after they stage out another protest. Giyani View has been highly informed that the college management has dismally failed to honor its promise that it will sort out students’ demands.

In 2017 students demanded that the management should renovate students’ residence, toilets and fix power cuts amongst other things.

Students are allegedly forced to utilize blocked toilets. It’s alleged that the matter has been reported since last week, but nothing was done.
The situation looked tense in the morning as they closed their campus main gate. No vehicle could enter or leave the campus.

Students sang the struggle songs and vowed to continue protesting until their grievances are addressed by the management.

Public order policing is monitoring the situation.
Limpopo Department of health’s spokesperson, Neil Shikwambana says a contractor has been appointed and he will be on site to deal with the challenge.

“The matter will be attended as soon as possible,” said Shikwambana.
According to a well-placed source within SRC the protest will continue today.
