GIYANI- Bambeni Youth Forum (BYF) made its presentation as a proof of how ready is the forum to host the first historical event in the village during the fortnight resident’s meetings at Bambeni Village outside Giyani on Sunday.
Speaking on Sunday, BYF spokesperson, Victor Rakgwatla encouraged participants to meet the Tuesday’s deadline by registering their names in the games of interest. The registration will close tomorrow at 5pm.
The event will start at 6am with mini- marathon of about 5 kilometres.
Bambeni Netball team met at 3pm in preparation for the big day. Team leader, Manyunyu Mabunda says by Friday the team will be much ready.
Rakgwatla stressed that participants shouldn’t be strictly Bambeni residents only. “In mini- marathon we aren’t getting the numbers as expected.
We are still calling for participants from our neighborhood to be part of this historic event in Ka- Dzumeri in particular.
“From 10 am we will commence with other fundraising activities such as heritage dance (Xigubu, Xibelani, Ncuva) will be showcased, included will be the musical entertainment such (Rhythm and Poetry chants) also on the menu are sporting codes like, (Soccer, Netball, Casino (playing cards)
“Participants will be awarded medals and trophies as a sign of appreciation. During the course of the day we will have a Freedom Day lecture,” concluded Rakgwatla.
The after party is expected to commence at 7am at Uncle James where Boti-majulie and the Xitsonga legendary musician, H.W Makhuvele will be entertaining the crowd.
