Giyani- The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from ward 12 in Giyani, led from the front by the ward chairperson Austin Mabasa is expected to visit Evuxakeni Hospital Management, today, to discuss a number of issues ranging from unpaid employees salaries.

Giyani View has been reliably informed that from March to July this year, some of the employees at Evuxakeni Hospital and Nkhensani Hospital haven’t received their salaries.

According to Mr Mabasa employees were told that they should continue reporting for work on a daily basis even though they haven’t received their salaries since March.

“When we enquired with the Department of Health, we were told that they were busy with it. Most of these workers are renting, wherein their children must also be looked after and, if they’re not getting their salaries, how are they going to do all these?” He asked.

“It’s disgusting that workers are still expected to report to work. There’s a guy in the name of Daddy Mathews, he must be removed from the Department of health, he is the one in charge of their payments.

“We call upon the incumbent MEC of the Department of Health in Limpopo to intervene,  and assist in this case matter,” concluded Mabasa.

The Provincial Department of Health spokesperson, Neil Shikwambane wasn’t immediately reached for a comment at the time of going to press.
