An elephant killed a ranger at Hlomela Village

Giyani- A ranger has been killed in Hlomela village outside Giyani town on Thursday.

According to our source, two lovebirds, elephants were spotted in the village near the Kruger National Park by residents before they were shot and killed by rangers.

“One, elephant attacked one of the rangers, and as he tried in vain to blow up the angry elephant, he was instantly killed by this elephant”.

Limpopo police spokesperson, L.T. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe has confirmed that rangers who were tracing the two elephants shot one dead, but the other attacked and killed Masenyane Makhubele (59).

The deceased ranger was attached to Kruger National Park, and he is from Giyani section E.

Ngoepe added that the  investigations continue.
