Jilongo village suspect in the run

Malamulele- Following the conducted Intelligence-led joint operation “ceasefire” and followed up an information at Jilongo village in Malamulele, police have recovered, 194 x 9mm live ammunition, 20 x hornet live ammunition, 186 x magnod live ammunition, 03 x R5 rifle live ammunition and 02 x 9mm empty magazines.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson, L.T. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, the determination of the police in the Province is to stabilise the scourge of crime, especially violent and contact crimes.

“The suspect in this regard is still on the run and it is believed he is currently somewhere in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province”. Added Ngoepe.

Meanwhile, the Tzaneen Cluster Task Team conducted an Intelligence-driven joint Tactical Operation “Ceasefire” in the Namakgale area outside Phalaborwa, and arrested  two suspects. Two 9mm Pistols and 18 ammunitions were seized during the arrests.

The two have already been positively linked to Botlokwa armed robbery, Phalaborwa burglary residence, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle and theft out of motor vehicle.

The Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended all members involved in these operations. “The arrest of the duo and the seizure of these arms and ammunitions, will go a long way in reducing the level crimes”, said General Ledwaba.
