MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo to lead cleansing ceremony of the R71

Giyani- The MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Makoma Makhurupetje in conjunction with National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA) will hold the cleansing ceremony of R71 road on Tuesday, tomorrow.

The cleansing will include a prayer service against motor vehicle accidents involving pedestrians on R71 route and other roads in South Africa.

This has emerged after a number of accidents had taken place on R71 route which connects Polokwane and Phalaborwa.

The ceremony is expected to start at 7am, at Nobody clinic open sports ground outside Polokwane town.

At this stage it isn’t yet clear if motorists​ should avoid the R71 in the mentioned time of the ceremony.
