Giyani- The South African Police Service in Limpopo condemn the continuous acts of violence perpetrated against women and children.
This condemnation follows an incident which occurred in a village in Mokwakwaila Police precinct outside Tzaneen where a 17-year-old girl was raped by a 33-year-old educator.
“It is alleged that on Sunday night the victim was from a nearby village when she met the suspect who is an educator at one of the High Schools, who then offered her a lift home.
“The suspect continued driving, passing the victim’s place of residence until at the local sports ground. The suspect started assaulting the victim and subsequently raped her.
“The matter was reported to the Police who immediately commenced with initial investigations until the suspect was apprehended.
“He will appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate Court on Tuesday on a charge of rape.
“Child safety remains a societal responsibility and as a result, everyone is expected to play a parental role to the children at all times to prevent this type of incidents from happening”, says police’s spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.
