Kheodi High School Teacher granted 30K bail for rape

Tzaneen- The arrested educator, Lesetja Rabopape (33) from ga-Ntata village who is also an educator at Kheodi High School in Belview village has re-appeared before the Bolobedu Magistrate Court on Thursday on a charge of rape.

He was granted R30 000.00 bail and his case was postponed to the 31 October 2018 for further Police investigations.

Police say, his arrest follows an incident which occurred in a village in the Mokoba Policing precinct outside Tzaneen town where a 17-year-old girl who is a learner at another high school was raped.

“It is alleged that on Sunday night, 2 September the victim was from a nearby village when she met the suspect who offered her a lift home.

“The suspect continued driving, passing the victim’s place of residence until at the local sports ground. The suspect started assaulting the victim and subsequently raped her.

“The matter was reported to the Police who immediately started with initial investigations until the suspect was apprehended.

“The Police investigations are still continuing”, says police spokesperson, Moatshe Ngoepe.
