Giyani- Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Giyani Sub- region has engaged Mopani and Giyani Spar on Tuesday with regards to the issue of exploiting workers.

According to the EFF, the two supermarkets which are operated by a well-known family, Sineman’s children and in-laws are robbing customers and violates the basic rights of employment act.

“Workers are complaining that since 2016 till to date there is no increment on their salaries, and the employer is deducting money to a momentum group without their consent and they don’t benefit from this scheme instead the employer is the one benefiting.

“A customer won a snooker at Mopani Spar, whose name is Mahori from Siyandhani village, what happened, they phone him to come to the shop and take pictures with the management after they told him they will deliver the snooker to his home.

“He had only R300.00 that he got until they reported this issues to us yesterday (Thursday) Mahori got a brand new snooker. Today we are going to fanilise other issues”, says Giyani sub-region coordinator Austin Mabasa.
