Giyani- As the rain continues to fill up the dry rivers and dams across Limpopo province the South African Weather Services has warned of another possibility of heavy rain- with possible flooding expected over the Vhembe, Mopani, Capricorn and Sekhukhune District Municipalities in the coming weeks.
Though the rain is needed in Mopani district after a long shortage of rain. The Mopani district municipality has recently been granted 84-million-rand drought relief fund from the department of water and sanitation to address challenges of lack of water.
Nevertheless, Makhuva residents in the outskirts of Giyani have allegedly witnessed the shock of their lives after Christmas day when a villager was struck and killed by lighting leaving two of his friends injured.
According to our source, the trio were builders and on their way from roofing one of the houses in Makhuva village. They were strike by a lighting which fatally left one of them deceased instantly.
