Polokwane- The South African Police Services (SAPS) in Polokwane appeal for information to help track down unknown suspects responsible for killing of an unidentified man after his partly burnt body was found dumped in the veld in Polokwane on Tuesday night.
It is alleged that a security officer was performing his normal duties at night at the offices next to Municipality park’s depot along the Webster street next to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, when a couple driving in a blue VW Polo parked their vehicle in the area.
Police spokesperson Captain Mamphaswa Seabi says that a male suspect was seen taking something wrapped in a refuse bag, dragged it into the nearby bushes and returned to the car.
“After some few minutes together with the female companion, the man went back to the dumping area and set the bag alight before driving away.
“The police were called and immediately rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a man which was partially burnt inside that refuse bag.
“The motive behind the killing is unknown at this stage, but police investigations are ongoing”, added Mmaphaswa Seabi.
The police appeal to anyone with information that can assist with the identification of the suspect or that may lead to the arrest of the suspects involved, to contact the police emergency number number 0860010111, the SMS Crime Line 32211 or the nearest police station.
