Learners admitted to hospital after cases of food poisoning reported at Bosele school for the blind

Polokwane- Limpopo Health Department confirmed that 23 learners from Bosele school for the Blind in the Sekhukhune area were taken to Klipspruit clinic yesterday (Wednesday) and later transferred to Grobelaarsdaal and Matlala hospital after 23 cases of food poisoning were reported, 19 were treated for diarrhoea while 4 were also vomiting.

Limpopo health department spokesperson Neil Shikwabana says the department has dispatched a team comprised of environmental health practitioners and public health specialists to Bosele school for the Blind.

“Early in 2017, learners from the same school were treated in hospital for similar condition. The officials dispatched by the department will work with school authorities to try and avoid such cases in future”, added Shikwabana.
