Polokwane- The police under Burgersfort cluster has on Thursday arrested two Pakistani nationals aged 24 and 28 for the Kidnapping and murder of Precious Mohlale Magagane (34) . The deceased, from Ga-Mahlakwane village went missing last year December.
The two were arrested following an intensive Crime Intelligence-driven operation that was conducted soon after it emerged that certain suspects could be involved in her disappearance.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed that the sterling detective work by the operatives, led to the discovery of the remains believed to be that of the deceased.
These dismembered remains were found disposed of at different places in the area along the Burgersfort – Lydenburg road.
They will be taken to the forensic department for DNA investigations
“The police have recovered a 9mm pistol, ammunition and a motor vehicle. A cellphone belonging to the deceased was also recovered from the seized vehicle. The motive for this gruesome murder in unknown at this stage, says Mojalefa.
The Limpopo SAPS Acting provincial Commissioner Major General Jan Scheepers has commended all members involved in solving the case and went further to thank members of the community for providing the necessary valuable information.
“The suspects have today appeared in Praktiseer magistrate’s court on charges of Kidnapping, Murder, Possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and Possession of suspected stolen property. Both suspects were remanded in custody until 15 February 2019 for further police investigations.” concluded Sheepers.
